How Do I Get Rid of Floodwater in My Closter Home?

Engage SERVPRO Flood Damage Technicians to Dry and Clean Your Closter Home
Any standing water can rot and erode both structural and personal property. As floodwater comes into your home, it also brings in soil and other contaminants that can speed up the rate of decay, making removing it an immediate priority.
How will Technicians remove floodwater from my home?
SERVPRO technicians have a large inventory of pumps, extractors, and other equipment to quickly draw out water from Closter small apartments to mini-mansions.
• With water about an inch or higher, they use one or more pumps to pull water out of basements, laundry rooms, and other rooms where the floodwater pools and settles
• For more shallow water, we use extractors that are designed to draw it off the hardwood and other floorings without damaging the surface. Set on a higher drawing speed, these devices are excellent for pulling water out of carpets.
• Neither type of device can get all traces of the floodwater, so Technicians also use dehumidifiers to draw moisture from the air, which increases the rate of natural evaporation.
How much of my property can be restored?
As long as we can quickly remove the floodwater and eliminate the threat of mold and other contamination, the most property can be restored. Walls and floor trim can be wiped down and sprayed with an anti-bacterial agent to eliminate the health threat. An exception to this is carpeting. Our Technicians cannot guarantee that carpets are safe to use again after using even the strongest cleaning agents in our chemical inventory.
What about the mold and other bacteria in the floodwater?
Before bringing in a pump or extractor, SERVPRO Technicians spray the surface of the water and surrounding property with a powerful anti-bacterial cleaner that kills most contaminants quickly. After removing the floodwater, they spray all now, exposed surfaces to eliminate the threat.
