Saving Family Treasure

We were recently called in to board-up a fire loss in River Edge, NJ. A contractor accidentally caused a fire in the wall while doing some work in the home. Needless to say the family was devastated by the fire. Fortunately no one was hurt. As we helped the family sort through the contents with the insurance company, they were going to write this piece off and have us discard it with the rest of the badly damaged items. However, this piece meant a lot to the homeowners. We said we can try to restore the piece. After one of our techs cleaned it in our ultrasonic cleaning machine it needed some TLC.  Crew Chief Jason Fizzaratti took it aside and gave it the TLC it needed. The homeowners couldn't believe they had a statue that meant so much to them back. We can't save everything, the insurance company follows the rule of them which is restore cost VS. replacement cost. At SERVPRO of Northeast Bergen County we take our clients wishes into consideration as our top priority.
