Haworth Softener Ruins Floor with Water Damage

Water softeners are great against the hard water in Haworth. However, while these units remove calcium and magnesium minerals, they also leech heavy metals from the piping. Regular inspections should get done, or you can wind up with water damage events like this one. The water softener leak seeped under the laminate flooring, and the boards required removal to dry the subfloor underneath. SERVPRO techs removed the baseboards, and fortunately, their detection equipment showed no wicking into the walls. The techs used their extraction equipment on the subfloor, and when they began seeing dry passes where no further water gets pulled up, they set up their drying equipment to remove the remaining embedded moisture in the work-site.
